Trinity Waters’ Travels

In our pursuit of enjoying Mother Nature’s gifts, here’s what Julia and I use to survive the wilds of State parks and RV resorts:

It has a generator, a walk around king size bed, a bathroom with a 3×4 shower and two vanities, a kitchen with an island sink and dishwasher, and a living room with two power theater recliners facing a 60 inch TV with Klipsch surround sound via a bluetooth subwoofer.  Just the minimums.  For full info, visit:  http://www.forestriverinc.com/product-details.aspx?LineID=390&ModelID=2768#Main

The very defensible reason for this level of “camping” is explained by what we must leave behind to enjoy this RV.  A view from my chaise of the 35 kids in their 5,000 gallon home:

Next installment: the places we go, and why.  We live 20 mi. south of PDX, the home of crazies, but like TKC, we are central to many unbelievable places where we can enjoy the gifts of our Mother.  We are about to leave on a 3 week trip beginning at Ft. Stevens Oregon State Park by Astoria, then onward.  Stay tuned, Blondie.

    * Thanks. Beautiful photo of the “kids” home.

We love this pond. Just replumbed a lot of it a couple of weeks ago, and everything is working better than ever! The kids love me because I’m the purveyor of kibbles.

I think he is being Koi with us.

They’re being Koi with me. Some new babies this year. The keepers are: Groucho (he has a black mustache), Toranaga (his color reminds me of crimson), Flash (simply because he is Ginrin and many flashy colors. The naughtiest fish is Hashimoto, named after an erstwhile business associate at Mitsui Bussan Aerspace. He rams the autofil nozzle just because he can. He’s not worth a dime, but we like him anyway.

I was too young to even remember but my brother told me we lived at a house with a pond in the back yard. On the bottom of the pond was a map of Japan. It was not the size of yours though. (They left Japan before I was four.)

I spent quite a bit of time all over Japan and saw many ponds. They don’t tend to be very natural in look, in general, but the fish! WooDeeHoo. About half of my fish came from Japan, where they are serious about breeding. Fun to talk about.

There is something that just says, “60 inch TV with twin reclining chairs does not go with camping.” Where is the tent, the sleeping bags, the lumpy ground, and the bug bites?

How far do the side sections pull out? It looks like a couple of feet.

    • Trinity WatersTrinity Waters says:

Depends on your definition of camping, sir Dime. Just two years ago we were on the ground in a tent. One day we just looked at each other and knew it was over. Started with a 26 foot pull behind, but a year later, my engineering instincts led me to this RV. It has opposing slides in the main body and a third one for the bed. Go to the link and look at their pix.

But still: 60-in TV? Isn’t part of the joy of camping being away from civilization? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to stay at the Quality Inn?

After a day in our kayaks or on our bikes, the TV is still the great pacifier. Especially for movies, our favorite. We don’t watch broadcast or cable TV.

The 5th wheel trailer seems a very functional choice so you set it and use your pick up truck to run into town occasionally.

Help MLH! where’s the edit or delete function? Or do our errors stand for infinity? My three stars where supposed to be on 10 Cents first koi comment.

Nice rig! Ours is a 27ft. travel trailer. Our first. Might upgrade when we get closer to retirement. Right now, it’s big enough for us. Dime, it’s called “glamping”. I’ve done the camping thing from sleeping in the bed of a truck to 3 room tent. The camper makes it easier for us to go to the beach more often and cheaper then turn around and go to visit the folks without putting anybody out.
Now, TW, I’m not sure I could leave that view you have at home! Looking forward to more posts of your adventures.

If you are leaving that beautiful landscape behind, I want to see pics of what great places you are heading for!
