(Brent, stop watching at the 56 min mark.)
Even if you don’t have the full 70 minutes, snippets will be worth your time. This man was downed in Nam and spent over a year in a hospital. He drank the Kool-Aid. (Watch the video to understand.) He took some personal photos of the SR-71 which were amazing.
Awesome post Dime. I’ve heard of him before and seen some photos, but not heard him speak.
Love the ground speed story. It was always fun flying cross country and having exchanges like that with controllers.
I loved his speaking style. He got his points across and was himself. He also sprinkled military humor throughout in that low key way. I liked the incident of the Special Forces guy guarding him on the ground. (6:00-7:30 in the video)
Time well spent! There are stories and then there are stories.
Thank you, thank you! That is excellent. Once I started to watch it, I couldn’t stop.
You made me late for work today, Dime. I’m going to pass this along to friends so they will be late also. Need to wait until Monday morning for the best effect.
I had the same experience. Mine was who is the hokey guy in the American flag shirt and 70 MINUTES is TOO long but once he started his talk he had me wanting more and what a classy ending.
You mean Tuesday don’t you?
Did you watch the video?
No. But Monday is Labor Day.
Sometimes I forget about holidays until someone tells me. So, yes, Tuesday.
Doc, the holiday is for people who work.
I pretend to work. Does that count?
You get paid, right? Ever thought of doing it on camera.
