It occurs to me that the next time Dems have control the way they did after 2010, they might do with guns what they did with health insurance. This might sound preposterous. However, I didn’t think they’d get away with their health insurance reform, yet they did. There are 2A Dems, but it seems to me that their numbers are in steep decline.
What do you think? Am I imagining things or does this seem plausible?
Worse than that. They won’t need the 60 Senate seats because they’ve already invoked the nuclear option.
“they might do with guns what they did with health insurance.”
Make sure everybody gets the same number of and caliber?
If you like your firearms, you can keep your firearms?
Gov’t subsidies to buy ’em?
I was using “reform” in a broad sense, not a narrow one.
Oh. I forgot to use the sarcasm font. sorry.
“they might do with guns what they did with health insurance.”
Take yours and mine away and give them to illegal aliens, etc.
I don’t know about giving them to illegal aliens… but yes, taking them away and making it stick (ie, survives a challenge @ SCOTUS).
Think Fast and Furious
Oh, yea, there is that. **sigh**
If push came to shove over gun ownership, the Dems that make hay over incidents to posture will do a quick turnabout if the assault on #2 gets serious. Similar to how the GOP passed an O’care repeal about a billion times when it meant nothing, when it got real, they backed off smartly. Remember not to assume integrity or actual ideas with politicians, of any stripe. Only Trump is unsoiled these days.

I agree. As with most things central gov’t oriented an outright confiscation isn’t going to work, it will be more subversive like the Obamacare questions – “Do you own a gun….?” How many guns in the house….?”, etc.
Brent, we’re on the call!
There are attempts in Kalifornia to mess with ammunition. Other Blue States have attempted to limit access to firearms. Most recently Maryland had a court decide that AR’s are within the realm of weapons that a state can limit. Kalifornia has long had a stupid magazine rule.
It’s not like these things aren’t being tried; they go on constantly in blue bayous. One has to combat these assaults where ever they are found. Latest attempt in Illinois is to hound the FFL’s out of the state with regulation and tax.
