Sarah Palin’s speech to a freezing cold but good-spirited crowd in Madison was the work of a competent battlefield commander in the war for our country’s future.
When you see the energy and the fight she’s bringing to the battle, you may understand why I have decided to “forgive” her for walking away from an elected post. At any rate, I’ll explain later.
If you have not seen this speech, you should. It is short, effective, and delivers blast after blast to those who need blastin’. I am not going to discuss specifics or post quotes, because the sheer energy and the Jane-sixpack charm are as important as the text. So watch the videos embedded below (courtesy of PalinTV at SarahPAC.com), and keep in mind that this crowd was being massed upon by an ugly mob shouting insults that make Whoopi Goldberg’s X-rated stand-up seem tame in comparison. She did not allow herself to be shouted down, and the looks on the faces of the supporters behind her are just plain heartwarming.
This speech is inspiring and invigorating. Enjoy it!
Part I
Part II
This speech was given on the grounds of the recent occupation of the capitol by those who for one reason or another feel that government employees should be able to commandeer their salaries over the objections of the voting and taxpaying public. Leftist groups and yes, shadowy rich donors poured money in for weeks, and bused in union goons to stiffen the spines of teachers caught in the middle of a Marxism vs. America battle royale.
Off the top of my head, she is the only national-level figure on the right to weigh in on this in a meaningful way, and she got it just right. She came to visit the troops, to share credit without taking it, and to address the union Americans in opposition without demonizing or insulting them. She fired up the base at what is supposed to be a low point in Tea Party morale, depending upon whose reports you believe. She saved her scorn for the President’s “cockamamie” policies (“All aboard his Bullet Train to Bankruptcy”!), while blasting weak-kneed Republicans in Congress who are losing the confidence of the frustrated taxpayers who delivered them a massive electoral victory.
Well, I said I wouldn’t go into specifics; I can’t do the speech justice by reference. I would like for people to re-assess her feel for leadership and motivational ability in the light of this speech.
I’m not declaring for her–I don’t have a single candidate I like. But come the Primary, one way or another we are going to have to pick one.
Sarah Palin has just carved a notch on the doorjamb that any GOP candidate is going to have to beat to win my vote.
