I have finally acquired a sense of Trumpian Zen.
After the eight years of concern about the most dangerous president the country ever elected and the constant terror that they would be successful in dismantling the last bastion of freedom, I am finding a sense of peace descending.
The media is not longer worthy of following day to day, minute by minute.
The White House is mostly sticking to their agenda and trying to learn as they go to avoid pitfalls. What is not happening is a series of dangerous , insane crazy initiatives that will change the republic beyond recognition.
The people on the other side now can sweat minute by minute , day by day and waste their energy on the end of their world as they know it. To hell with them, oh wait, they are in hell, Trump got elected…
Just another thing to smile about.
This weekend, we took the new F150 on the Volcanic Legacy Scenic drive, from Crater Lake to the Lava Beds National Monument. We rolled from 7000 feet and twenty foot snowbanks to high desert lava rock formations with four wildlife refuges and the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi on the way.
Really fine time with the mother of my children. It was even better knowing things were not getting actively worse while we were off enjoying life.
The economy is growing, the regulatory state is halted for now and even slowly receding in a few places and the crazies seem to be isolating themselves into echo chambers.
Day by day, the Never Trumpers predictions are showing them to be mostly “HE IS NOT OUR KIND OF PEOLPLE” issues, along with “HE WILL UPSET OUR CORRUPTION: concerns.
If he gets stalemated, we are still ahead. The more they fight his initiatives, their forced inaction will kill them. One terrorist incident by a refugee, One exchange for OCare where there are ZERO providers, one more drunk driver killing people who was illegal the delay tactics will bite them.
It will be a long four years, but the good news is most of the anxiety is now on the opposition.
Enjoy it. Achieve the State Of Zen Trump.

I love this post.(I sometimes think we were twins separated at birth,TKC.)
To add to your most astute commentary, I really enjoyed something Greg Gutfeld said on his show the other night to Tyrus, my favorite WWF guest.
Allow me to paraphrase:
“Trump is like a shark swimming beneath the water; he doesn’t care what’s going on above the surface. All he knows is what he needs to kill and he goes after it.”
:)
Thanks ET. It dawned on me I am no longer captive to the media, they are captive to him. Trump is making them jump and showing they have no substance.
The people of substance are not journalists, they are doers themselves. They are the people here, who collectively know more than the entire media army pursuing Trump.
Our media have become Keith Olberman at worst and Chauncey Gardiner at best.
“The people of substance are not journalists, they are doers themselves.”
The productive rule and really always have. It’s reassuring to have the Donald around to remind us of this blatantly obvious fact that the parasites have worked quite hard to disguise.
We’re camping this summer near Crater Lake. Beautiful.
I think my dad has achieved this level of Zen, also. He told me today the TV hasn’t been on for 3 days other than to see the weather forecast. I told him the best thing that could happen to this country was for the 24/7 news channels to go dark. Trump has them chasing their tails, anyway.
I feel perfectly satisfied reading Trump tweets and checking in with Hannity every night. I adore Monica Crowley, Dana Perino, Jesse Waters, and Laura Ingraham.
I also subscribe to NR and Weekly Standard, but both these publications are beginning to annoy me, particularly as they had NO FORESIGHT WHATSOEVER regarding the 2016 election.
I haven’t really liked NR since WFB left; Rich Lowry is just a limp wrist and doesn’t do it for me and William Kristol & Co. were as hostile to Trump as Slate!
Limp wrists, the lot of them at NR.
Agreed.
Following the MSM news just makes you stupider. I’ve joined you in this Zen place. Reminds me of this quote:
Trying to determine what is going on in the world by reading newspapers is like trying to tell the time by watching the second hand of a clock.
– Ben Hecht
P.S. I did forget to mention Kimberley Strassel at WSJ and IBD. Both are awesome reads.
I wouldn’t say I’ve gotten to Zen… especially when he does things like bomb Syria… but I have to admit I’ve gotten a point of satisfaction when his enemies are all outraged. And that in itself is, oddly, calming.
What’s that great Conan quote:
To defeat your enemies, to drive them before you and hear the lamentations of their women.
Or something like that.

The true irony is that Trump’s enemies still haven’t understood that their genuine enemy is the people.
Let us hope they maintain such ignorance and I sincerely encourage Trump to continue his “re-education program;” unfortunate, because there is so much to fix and so little time for him to be wasting precious hours dealing with anti-Americans with voting power.
Moral of the story folks: our senatorial and congressional races are every bit as important as the presidential. The Founders wanted the 3 branches to work together for the better of the nation and in this light, many legislators from both parties should be considered treasonous.
