This is how I paid for my checkup. I put in my hospital’s “Members” card and it told me how much to pay.
I got a blood test, ekg, eye and hearing exam, chest x-ray, barium test in my stomach, and a quick exam by a physician. It took me about an hour and a half from start to finish.
?Seriously. ?That’s what it cost.
Medicine – or someone – is ripping off the public. But I never was a money guy.
How many dollars?
1 yen is about a penny.
Good price. Is this subsidized? How much time with the physician?
Under 10 minutes. I suppose if I were bleeding it might be longer.
Sorry, but you get what you pay for. I’m in no mood to compromise my health care by robbing doctors who have spent $250K getting an education of making a living.
Ann Coulter said it best: “I was running around law school while my sister was working 72 hour shifts as a medical intern.”
Doctors pay an enormous price not only in terms of education, but in time and the horrible bureaucracy of insurance claims. My parents went concierge (aka DocJay) and it was the best thing because it allowed them to attract the best care 24-7.
That’s a lot of yaki soba.
Mike lived in Japan when he was young. A long time ago, right Mike?
Yep, I was there for four years, from 1975 to 1979.
Is that where you met your person of mechanical heritage (aka robot) girlfriend?
She was a
cheerleadervending machine at my pre-school.Hey!
