    I’ll share an anecdote that contradicts this. Years ago I had lunch with a hard-left freelance journalist on the environmental beat. Besides writing for the indie newspapers like the LA Weekly, she also did some work for the hunting and fishing mags like Field & Stream that were heavily male and conservative. She told me those magazines paid better and she was treated more respectfully than by the (leftist) indie weeklies. The guys there were sexists, always hitting on her and trying to pay her less that they paid the guys.

    Even though she was a leftist, she understood that conservative men were *not* the worst human beings in the world. I bet some of those actresses know it too.
