I am inclined to consolidate our Republican coalition. Our winning team should be solidified and replicated.
I also do not want revenge upon our fellow countrymen merely for voting differently. Their rights are our rights. But there are a great many who did more than just vote or politic a different way — some of them joined in the hysteria to destroy our families and livelihoods over COVID mandates, and have colluded to mutilate and pervert our own children, with a malicious disregard for our rights or the children’s well-being. This cannot go unpunished, or it *will* continue.
Finally, there are a great many officials who have committed actual crimes in office, putting their partisan or other interests above their oaths to the Constitution. From Garland to Vindman, there must be a reckoning, and it must be breathtaking in severity. This is our only form of deterrence, and right now is our last chance to establish that deterrence.
Trumps and Bidens will pardon each other, and God knows Obamas and Clintons will always walk scot-free. Meanwhile, an army of government employees and functionaries must be shown that the wages of oathbreaking is prison. Regardless of whether the top level always gets away, it’s the permanent civil service employees and appointed officials who must fear the law more than they desire to curry favor or forward an interest other than the Constitution itself. I am still working out the lines between warmly welcoming the new coalition and savagely defending the future of this country for our children. Expect bumps.
With malice toward none, yet requiring justice to prevent calamity, Welcome to the New Thing.
