This is a fun place. There are good people, good topics, and we can’t even afford a troll. (They cost money and BDB is too cheap.)
I love gentle ribbing. I hate a dog pile on a weak opponent. Speaking of weak, “Giving final warnings” from on high is a weak way to do business. You are saying you don’t know how to take care of a customer and can’t bring them around. Insecurity to the max too.
In a good mood I just laugh and laugh at the unintended jokes. Another part feels sad because it ends badly whenever whoever does things this way. When you get rid of enough customers you no longer have complaining customers or a business.
The cafe is transitioning from coffee to gasoline and oil. Maybe that will work out better, while still contributing to global warming.

I think they’re just moving into an old building that fell into disrepair during the Obama administration. They hope to succeed with the revival of the oil and gas industry.

I had some good times over there, but some bad times as well. Unfortunately, I sincerely have a hard time really understanding when to shut up. Probably better at it now. But the bad faith directed at me was pretty overwhelming at times. The fact that it never got called out by TPTB was really tough to take. There were some truly horrific comments directed my way that just stood. I harbored no ill will towards anybody, but when it became clear that people seemed to **enjoy** the arguing just for arguement’s sake, that’s when I really had to step back and question my continued involvement there. Once I realized that I was was inadvertently contributing to an unhealthy dynamic, I knew I could not renew.
The whole game revolves around the flags. The moderators are too naive to know they are being gamed by the trolls.
If you wanted to see things called out by the TPTB then you should have flagged the comment with the offensive bit. I have never flagged there so I don’t know what happens next.
I mostly did not flag comments directed at me, but started flagging comments directed at others. I hated it either way.
I am glad that I didn’t renew. It was a huge waste of time for me anyway, regardless of anything else. I got a lot done after not renewing, such as finishing my bachelor’s degree in accounting, writing a book, and getting published in the American Bar Association Journal. When it comes to Rico, that last one in particular really tickles me, since the argument I put forth in the article was resoundly rejected at Rico. Whodathunk that the ABA would have picked it up? Yes indeed, I am mighty tickled about that!
