Good things come in threes.
I have a friend that swears by “the write three things to be thankful for in the morning”. I know it is good to do that but I am not disciplined enough to write it down.
I will go for some quick and easy thanks.
- Thankful that my mom made it to 91.
- Thankful that my brother had his birthday. (One brother was lost on his birthday.)
- Thankful for the BDB crowd. (The good ones.)
On a related note, how many of you journal? How many of you don’t?
I don’t.
“2”
“Thankful for the BDB crowd. (The good ones.)”
I guess that leaves me out.
Thankfully, DocLor?
I have tried and found I just do not have the drive to do it. I prefer the edited and rosy memories to being confronted with the lame and stupid me of the past.
Yes, on stilts.

I was coming home and I saw a man with a cane. He was all hunched over and look like it was taking 2 minutes to go a yard. I was wondering if I should help. How far was home for him?
I walked a little further and saw a construction flag man. I told him that I was worried about that crippled man. He said, “He passes this way every day.”
I was thankful to know this man was okay. And I was thankful that I still have “wheels” to get around. I am thankful to know someone has the grit to do the hard way when a wheelchair would be easier.
A power wheelchair would be easier – but even that has its risks…I used to journal – until I noticed that I was writing the same stuff, about the same stuff: Talking to myself on paper.
