There’s enough room here to suspect that the Black Panther thing is a ruse, designed to get conservatives out of our chairs only to be called stupid for rising at intentional provocation. This sort of thing does give the Obama administration breathing space to commit genuinely offensive and illegal acts. It pushes the boundaries of criticism ever further into lawless territory, so that we accept what is plainly wrong even while we wonder why we do nothing about it. These are powerful psychological techniques which are normally resisted by a society’s powerful bullshit filter, which is evolved and honed over decades and centuries. This is the value of culture, and what defines a people. This is also why the Progressive left seeks to subvert every moral or traditional aspect of culture. Once we come unmoored from the things we know are right, we have little resistance to the things we know are wrong.
But while the concept is valid (they do it all the time, and it works just fine for them), there’s certainly no evidence, which makes it a fruitless chase. The sort of skill required to pull off criticism like this is largely found on the left, and at any rate, the media works for them and against us. We do ourselves no favors by rising to protest and then being unable to articulate the reasons why.
This is why Breitbart’s death was such a blow to conservatism. He came from that end of things
