My mom is in Jacksonville, Northern Florida. My brother is there and brought her up from Central Florida so she is safer.
Severely Ltd and Boss Mongo relocated from the Keys to safer places.
I hope all your family and friends are safe and will be safe.
Friday was mom’s birthday. If this keeps up she will go to triple digits.
Glad your mom is safe, Dime! I hope her next year’s birthday is not so soggy!
Hoping everyone gets to higher ground, and Irma tires herself out quickly.
Thanks. (I guess it is true that in times of crisis people who normally don’t get along turn nice. I am going to have to take a screen shot to remember this.)
Don’t count on it lasting.
I have already picked out curtains. How do you feel about livin’ in a shoe?

All my relatives and friends got out of South Florida. One told me the nearest hotel he could book was in Chatanooga TN.
Here’s hoping that the storm will prove less severe than predicted and that all are safe and sound.
Dime, thank you for the updates in this post. Hope your family is safe and comfortable.
I sent out some e-mails and I am waiting for answers.
That storm surge is a thing you can’t ride out. 5 feet of water will destroy a lot.
Naples will be hit hard.
Severely Ltd has rode out the storm in the Carib and will know in a day or so about his business and house in the Keys.
Talked to my Fire Fighter nephew in Central Florida, he is having a terrible morning. A friend died after she was coming home in a head-on with someone going into work. He has known the family for 11 years.

How awful – God bless him for the work he does, and prayers for that family.
10c very sorry to hear this.
It didn’t hit me about no electricity till now. I was thinking about no lights. In Florida the big thing is no air conditioning. Life can be unbearable without that. I hope my mom’s place will have electricity.
I heard on the news that my mom’s town mostly has electricity.
*** whew!
Mom is in Jacksonville at my brother’s house without electricity. The water is on a pump so no water.
:(
Someone I know in Naples, Florida rode out the storm. The house is okay but the yard is gone. The friend’s mother went to Orlando and is okay. “No power little water and no mobile service …”
Record flooding in Jacksonville so this is why my mom is without power at my brother’s house.

ulp. That’s a lotta water.
Severely’s business on Islamorada looks good from a photo from the outside but does not know if he has water damage inside. He is still away.
I asked him about the Socks and the Coins and he responded, “We left the socks and change outside, no sign of them.”
Boss Mongo and the Lovely Mrs Mongo are doing well in Orlando. They don’t know about their home in the Keys yet.
Mom has electricity in Jacksonville. She found out about her place in Central Florida. It is dry but an add-on to the building was destroyed. She told me the eye passed over her Central Florida place.
Yeah, I saw a report on Fox this morning that said Lakeland was really hit hard, isn’t that where your mom was before going to your brother’s? My husband’s church just hired a new rector, he and his family are moving up here from a church right near the water in Naples Fl – miraculously (literally) the report is, a little water got in under the church doors but the building is fine!
I am just going from what my mother said. Those towns down there are sprawling so she might have been in the good part of town.
That is dedication on the part of the rector. Leaving paradise and all. Have you told him about winter yet?
His 4 kids can’t wait to go sledding.
(Episcopal priest, so married w 4 kids)
Is he married to a woman?
yes! I have hope that he’l be a bit more conservative than the interim priest, who announced counseling sessions for anyone in the parish who needed it after the election. Seriously.
Did you go in and talk to the priest, Pencil?
Priest: How are you doing?
Pencil: Not so good.
Priest: Hurt because of Hill?
Pencil: No, I’m tired.
Priest: But you seem to be smiling.
Pencil: Yes, this winning is killing me. :-)

oh that would have been mean heeheeheeheeheeheehee
And you would never be mean just pointy and prodding, right?

My mom is back in Central Florida. Boss is heading back to the Keys. Severely Ltd has not been heard of lately.
