Oh, man, this is great:
President Obama has granted an 11th-hour request by Attorney General Eric Holder to exert executive privilege over Fast and Furious documents, a last-minute maneuver that appears unlikely to head off a contempt vote against Holder by Republicans in the House.
This is like Tea Party Christmas. Obama just opened the door to impeachment. At a minimum, this gives Congress the opportunity to examine Obama’s use of Executive Privilege, which should prove rewarding. This is not any victory for the Marxists in the White House. This is a large chunk crashing down in the collapse of the administration!
Boehner is smart but weak — but this is the only time he has been hitched to Issa instead of McConnell. Well, maybe he’s not smart, but he IS weak. Issa is smart and strong. Christ, I just got a man-crush on Issa all over again.
I’ve been bitter (brutal!) in my criticism of Boehner over the last two years, but lemme tell you what. If Issa and Boehner were trying to provoke this response, I’ll get back in the GOP clown car and shut up.
