If the word “slut” has any meaning, it certainly includes a woman who publicly proclaims that she cannot afford the amount of contraception she uses. The “prostitute” part comes in when she then attempts to arrange for that payment to be made by others, whether involved or not.
Nobody on the right made this an issue, and nobody on the right even thought that statements like those made by this woman had any place in a hearing on the separation of powers. Which is what it was, until Pelosi blew it up with this circus stunt to deflect attention from the President’s tyrannic power grab. To be clear, Ms. Fluke’s remarks were staged, a scripted appearance with a handful of Democrats and filmed by a compliant media to appear as if this had been part of the hearing–it was not. The stage-dressing in this particular incident seems fairly close to Wag The Dog territory, but that’s a whole other fight.
Meanwhile, here’s a look at the previous woman-insulting media flap that nearly derailed the career of a show-biz … oh, right. Sorry. National Organization for Women Still Silent on Jimmy Fallon Show Bachmann “Bitch” Ambush
The National Organization “for Women” remains in an abusive relationship with the Marxist Democrats, since way back in the Clinton days, when they could not be bothered to support a single woman who claimed (or later proved) that they had been used or abused as sex toys by the Philanderer-in-Chief.
If that silence made you uncomfortable then, you should really get the creeps now, because this is not about Michele Bachmann, but about boundaries. A woman who does not vote Democrat is eligible for abuse? What does that say about the Democrat establishment? What does it say about women who vote Democrat?
The left never saw fit to complain about the invective hurled at Palin or Bachmann, and is un-bothered by the dictatorial control implicit in the administration’s pronouncements. Instead, they Alinsky-ize Limbaugh. Well Rush is right.
”Slut” is an unpleasant word, and I have no problem with Rush apologizing for poor word choice: which is exactly what he apologized for. But he is sticking to his guns about the substance of the argument, and so am I.
