My blood pressure and state of mind are both vastly improved since I got expelled from Ricochet U for a month. I likely won’t return there. Visiting this site is always a positive experience. I’ll be around more now. Thanks for hosting this site BDB, and thanks to those who help him.

I check the old place about once a week. FC has another post begging for new members and all I could think of is that maybe they should focus on not running off the good one ones they already have.

Start-ups are hard. It is especially hard if you fritter all your money away learning the basics. Before you wastes everyone’s time and money read a book on customer service, will you?
In a different realm this happened. The Mainline Denomination in America went away from core positions and started to be more progressive. This came from Liberal theology and wanting to be up to date. They figured that if they were more in-tuned to modern world more people would come. Well, it did not work out for them.
I see the same thing happening in parts of the Conservative movement. There are a few that have crossed the line and seemingly are more friendly to Progressives then their old allies. They win praise as right thinking Conservatives but soon lose the edge that made them distinctive. Their “churches” will soon be empty.
Yes, hasn’t it been interesting how much the churches have lost in this last generation or three? In the long view, though, it is a sign of the times.

EJ pops by more often than Mike which isn’t saying much.
Seems like this may be the place to post this, because I don’t know where else to post it … it looks like JcTPatriot just got banned or at least a serious suspension. He sent me an email that he can’t sign in, happened after sending a PM to Skipsul. Then there is his comment that referenced “Antifa Ricochet”.
I don’t think anyone over at the bad place are aware he thinks he just got banned.
So, BDB, please confer with your council and let me know if you want me to direct him over here.

“Antifa Ricochet” once heard can’t be unheard. It is making me laugh. I knew the place and they don’t like bad epithets so much they prove them. There are too many parallels to not be funny though. (How did this ever come about?)
Billy, may I ask, did you leave or was it their decision. If it was theirs, they have been busy this week. I am up to 5 — banned, suspended or given a “final warning”. All HW members.

I remember all of you- and I’m quite surprised that any of you would get banned.
TempTime, Billy, and Annefy haven’t been banned YET. If I was a betting man I would bet on Annefy to be head of that pack.
Wow, that was quick.
In any case, I almost continued on to say that if they hadn’t been banned, I could certainly understand why they got fed up enough to simply leave.
That’s what happened with me, for what it’s worth.

Also, as I threatened above, I went back and visited the bad place, very briefly.
John Walker had a post, which I don’t doubt will make me go back at least once more so I can read it in full.
But aside from that… the site seemed much diminished. I made it partway down page two. I noted three?- at least two- posts begging people to become members. Mostly, it appeared to be upvoted posts from members. I ran out of time while reading one of those, from someone I’m pretty sure was actually banned for a long time. Someone I liked, I must note.
And the site still loaded rather slowly. If I wasn’t familiar with the place, with a definite reason to visit, I might have simply clicked away, just because of that.
Meh. It actually wasn’t as bad as I expected- but it certainly wasn’t good enough to make me want to resume sending them money.
If they want to meet THAT bar, they need to stop banning people I like.
No, I won’t be holding my breath.
I wasn’t banned, but I was suspended for a week (to be honest, I deserved it). I was warned, however, that the next infraction would be sudden death WITH NO REFUND (I am pretty sure it was capped)
In the meantime, BY mentioned in the private HW group about JCT’s suspension and that he’s one infraction away from a permanent ban. Jon G even piped in – we all knew the eds and mods were sneaking around the place, but that’s the first time any of them have commented (that I know of). BY is a member and has commented frequently.
Anne, would you put up with a threat like that from any other business? Do they have something that you can’t live without?
BTW, no invites are sent to prospective members of HW any more. Just puts a target on their back …
