Don’t assume that everybody knows who you are. If you have Contributor status, you can post right here to the main page. And more!
Later, the main page will be more of a production. For now, it’s your playground. Heaven knows, it’s mine!
I am typing this with my thumbs, sitting in my car at the top of a hill, looking across Tokyo Bay.
Where are you?
Prescott, AZ. Thinking about hitting the rack.
Actually, I do not think this is true. I have just scrubbed to a 95% confidence level that only you (MLH) and I can see those details. — That is, I have validated the *inability* of generic web users, Inbound, and Contributors to see the user list or to pop details on a profile, in the blog, the dashboard, and the forum.
Also, I have identified a mechanism to allow you to actually do user management without taking full admin (the default). If you’d like to take that on, I’ll give you my secret sauce for member-spam detection — and turn you loose on it.
Okay. Hold the sauce for now, please.
“To-The-Right-of-Nowhere” in NWPA; looking out my library window at leafless maples, blue sky, wispy clouds – and green grass – in November!
I’m in Texas, a red state.
I’m here in front of my iMac in Everett, Washington, missing you on Ricochet.
Everyone should also follow my own WordPress blog at RushBabe49.com.
I’m in Michigan, marveling at the green grass.
It won’t last- like something else, I suspect.
BDB, sorry to see you go, but I don’t blame you one bit.
MLH, are you satisfied that this is a misnomer? If so, can I ask you to line it out with an explanatory note?
Huh? Which?
The comment above about email addresses and security.
I’m in Spokane Valley, Washington. I love the lofty pines and misty mountains.
Wow! All the new people!
I’m at work in Albuquerque, NM. Dry and cool – and high.
Whachoo mean by “high”? Did NM pass a mary jane bill, too?
6200′ altitude. Makes us old guys a little short of breath.
Hey Dev, good to see you again!
Good to be back. I have sort of been tied up with work, doctors, Marine stuff. But now that the election is over, less out there so more time to talk.
Howdy, Dev!
I am looking forward to speak with pals MLR, TKC, and BDB again without getting crucified for my fiscally conservative views.
If you would, BDB, pls explain how to post an essay/ article on your new site; am a little unclear.
Happy to find a new and friendly vehicle for my thoughts!

Welcome aboard, Liz!!
I am in the Houston area, in Texas.
Are you still going to get me a picture of the Mikasa?
Seawriter
Yes! Sorry for the delay. What requiremenets do you have for resolution, and what sort of picture would you prefer? Will soon have a boat powerboat license, to afford an unusual view.
Hey all! Good to see all of you.
RAH, Annefy!
Wow! Liz, Annefy, Seawriter, RushBabe. TKC and Mike have been lurking about for a while already. This is turning out to be a nice group to talk with.
Hi Erma! :)
Hey E! I’ve missed you.
Hi everybody! So nice to see familiar names here. Liz gave me the link here and invited me to join. I’ve been off Rico since early March. How have you all been? Can you believe the election? Wow, just wow.
I guess I should address the question in the OP… :) I’m in the deep blue So Cal.
Welcome Jennifer! Looking forward to having many more conversations with you as we enter the Brave New World in tandem.
Very impressed that you voted for the D and feel positive about it.
You were part of that, Liz. I remember how hard you fought over at Rico. I was skeptical, but I think it was mid-October when I finally decided that I’d pull the lever for him. I was genuinely afraid of HRC going after our religious liberties even harder than Obama has. DJT promised to appoint pro-life SCOTUS justices, and that impressed me so much. Plus he promised to repeal the Johnson Amendment, which would be a big step forward for religious liberty.
Anyway, thanks for your input there. Your instincts were correct.
Gotta tell you, election night was such fun! I sat on the sofa with my laptop on my lap, open to the New York Times, and CBS on the TV. The NYT had all these really cool metrics they were tracking, with graphs and charts and dials. Everything was pointing towards HRC in the early part of the evening, but by, I dunno, 8PM or so it was clear that all of the early metrics were WAY, WAY off. It was quite early in the evening where the momentum was. Couldn’t believe that the NYT was basically calling it for DJT that early, not officially of course, but according to their own metrics it was clear where things were heading. Joe and I went to Panda Express for dinner, and as I stood in line I said quite loudly: “THE NEW YORK TIMES IS CALLING IT FOR DONALD TRUMP!” The lady in front of me turned around and smiled but nobody else seemed to care. Oh well, I was happy!
I’m in the middle of nowhere, Nebraska
There is no such as “nowhere” Jager! Every state, every vote counts.
That’s the beauty of the Electoral College.
In Dallas, as usual. Doing battle with the markets.
Things have livened up around here some. That is good.
The markets are wild but tech stocks not so great by comparison.
What’s your take?
Hope you’ll be impressed by this one: I managed to get hold of the infamous Michael Burry via his web site and he actually responded!
I own a stock that I was quite dubious about but he supports it wholeheartedly in his hedge fund.
He’s not the friendliest person in this world but he did tell me I was on the right track. As a bona fide sports fan, I think I just communicated with Michael Jordan!!
Howdy, Brent!
Hello My Friend Nanda
E, I have no edge in equities right now. I watched them along with gold, oil, and treasuries and told my friends at 7pm central it was over, Trump won. They laughed – then.
We went limit down all indexes until the BOJ announced an emergency meeting at midnight central. A friend was at the hotel for Trump’s acceptance and a very high net worth individual got a call just beforehand and was spirited out if the event by his security. Stocks have been straight up since with deteriorating underlying technicals. Buy or short at your own risk.
I’ve mostly traded sugar and coffee short recently.
Thanks BB67 for the analysis. My portfolio has risen nicely since the election but I have been forced to short the tech stocks. So far so good.
Next question: Snapchat will be offering an IPO and I’m game to buy. Your thoughts?
How a “money and markets” sort of forum E?
That would be fabulou$ !
Excellent – I hear the music from Louis Rukeyser’s show in my head right now. (-:
I don’t trade individual names so I am of no use to you on Snapchat.
Well done shorting tech.
Wzup, Brent? I Accelerated my expiration over there. Karma’s little helper, that’s me.
I heard through the coconut telegraph you departed the pattern.
Karma Chameleon, beloved Admin….
Kind of makes me a “visionary” – I left R> a long time ago, when it was apparent there was no adult supervision there.
Heh. I also left there a while back, in the wake of the Rush Limbaugh/Sandra Fluke kerfuffle. The reeking sanctimony and utter failure to hang with the team was disgusting. Claire left the site for a long time, so I finally came back. Then so did she.
Maybe it’s my fault?
