The Orwellian “Diversity is our Strength” is known by the government to be a lie, and in Soviet fashion, the bosses insist upon hearing it from the lips of those who are bossed. Let us recall that propaganda is not intended to convince, but to suppress, via demonstration of power via absurdity and numbers. So there are probably people who actually believe that diversity for its own sake will somehow add strength, but these peoples’ belief is not the goal. The goal is their submission and yours.
So here is a screenshot from a Matt Walsh / Daily Caller video in which he presents (among a lot of other stuff) a 2013 slide from a powerpoint presentation at, or to, or from the FAA. It is damning in its forthright admission that diversity comes at a price, that there is a trade-off between diversity scores and job performance, and that the FAA needs to choose how much poor performance they are willing to accept in return for how much diversity — and how to measure that diversity. Note that this presentation is about the FAA strategizing “diversity” goals for air traffic controllers! A “CPC” a Certified Professional Controller.
To the infinite credit of some brave soul somewhere in the bowels of the government, this slide is an attempt to ask the right questions in the pursuit of the wrong goal. If diversity were a strength, this would not be a trade-off, but a synergy. It’s a trade-off, and I’m glad to see that somebody somewhere admitted it. This is really a good set of questions. Oops. Bet that guy got canned.
