Lessons for a New President

Donald Trump is a seasoned executive and leader, but still new in his present job. Like all newbies he is getting a lesson in how things work, unfortunately, it is going to be a very painful lesson for We the People.

I’ve read here and elsewhere that President Trump’s dance with the Democrats is a master tactic to expose the division and dysfunction of the Republicans. That division and dysfunction is legion for all to see. The President’s goal in dealing with Chuck and Nancy isn’t necessarily to enact long term meaningful Democrat priorities. His goal appears to be get something/anything done and shame Republicans into unifying and passing an agenda closer to his priorities.

I’ve no idea if this is in fact his strategy, but hope this … Continue reading

Navy – Driver’s Ed.

Good grief.

Apparently the whole Navy is too busy getting busy on the bridge to pay attention to anything.

It isn’t like cargo ships suddenly have cloaking devices.

I blame nonsense like this:

Every clown in that video should’ve been keelhauled sideways for a month. Instead they probably all ended up in Surface Warfare Officer School and made watch standers on our Destroyers in 7th fleet.

Shakin My Damn Aviator Head at this foolishness.

Fiscal Insanity – Republican Leadership

How are fiscal matters shaping up under the new renaissance Republican leadership? More like fecal matters.

The following chart is busy and some explanation is in order.

Spending

Top Pane

Tax receipts. This is private property God Blesses we the people through our hard work, ingenuity, risk taking, and industriousness that we empower an extra Constitutional central government to confiscate from us for our own good thanks to the enlightened votes of 51% of our nation. The confiscations peak in April and October and thus is volatile data in the bar graph so I’ve taken what little individual liberty I’ve left to smooth the … Continue reading

Splash 1 Fitter!

The Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet scored its first kill when a Syrian SU-22 Fitter was downed by an F/A-18E Super Hornet most likely from the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) allegedly deployed to Sixth(6) Fleet in the  Mediterranean Sea according to GlobalSecurity.org.FA-18E-catapult-706x417

I was never Blessed to encounter SU-22’s or the earlier Su-17/20 variants or I would’ve been writing endless posts about “there I was….” shooting them down. Known by its NATO codename: Fitter, they are very fast air to ground attack airplanes built as a knock off the USAF F-111 Aardvark of the 70’s.

Fitters have very limited air-to-air capability and only carry archaic thermal … Continue reading

A ? for President Trump

President Trump’s first 100+ days are marked by strokes of courage and falls of surrender. Where domestic policy is concerned we are coming to a fork in the road where Mr. Trump will either solidify himself as an astute successful business man citizen president or he will surrender to darker forcers, risk the chance of a 2nd term, and be cast aside as a relic of what is formerly known as conservatism.

From The Hill:

Here are the 66 programs eliminated in Trump’s budget

President Trump’s fiscal 2018 budget proposal would completely eliminate 66 federal programs, for a savings of $26.7 billion.

Some of the programs would receive funding for 2018 as part of a phasing-out plan.

Here are the programs the administration wants on the chopping … Continue reading

Request for ‘Splainin

Having long ago been humbled that I am not the smartest guy in the room or on on this ship I need some explaining from our team. This is my recollection of how it all went down. Please correct me where I’ve lapsed.

During the 2016 presidential campaign the henchman in chief of Hillary’s campaign, John Podesta, got a phishing email from some porn site or something that looked like a legit website. He clicked on the link and entered or reset his password and thought he was done.

The server he was directed to may or may not have been in Russia, but most likely was, but could’ve been run from anywhere on the planet with a dial up AOL account. Podesta’s password was used to legitimately access … Continue reading

Veteran Hiring Gap

Author’s Note: I wrote this point paper for a different/specific audience. It has gotten a chilly reception. I hope our crew enjoys it and I look forward to feedback from our unique group of veterans and business professionals.

Background

Transitioning from active duty military to civilian employment or finding a new career after serving is challenging and a new digital obstacle confronts veterans, especially former officers. Previously the interview and employment challenge is bridged by veterans’ assistance firms both for and non-profit along with veteran friendly employers. 21st century recruiting tools designed to streamline talent acquisition may be erecting a new barrier to interviewing and hiring veterans that conventional relationships between veteran transition services and employers isn’t addressing.

The Veteran Gaps

Veterans present unique challenges and opportunities for … Continue reading

Invocation Advice

My good friend, the Honorable Allen Clark will be hosting a national security luncheon this week and I am flattered and honored that he has invited me as his guest to lead the invocation.

Having not done this before I am hoping our crew here can offer some pointers and advice.

I will not be offering a generic invocation and will reference Jesus Christ.

What are some things you recommend to do or specifically avoid?

Thank you,
