So since I don’t go to Rico, give us running reports on how they are faring.

  2. NandaNanda says:

Does your other recent post reflect either of these, beloved Admin? Since they’re both Member Feed?

    War on GOP

That’s it. The Republic is dead.

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/12/17/watch-senate-leaders-block-public-debate-1-1-trillion-budget-plan/

I come to kick McConnell, and his twin, Reid, neither to praise nor bury them. I want them to suffer.

However, they will be fine. They have millions. Who will pay this additonal trillion-plus? Not them, that’s for sure. Not you, or you would revolt. Your children, and your children’s children. If they should live so long. Mitch Akbar.

This is a crafty coup against the Senate itself. This is also one of a series of coups against the Republic. Choose your allies wisely. The bastards are running, sprinting, leaping over limits and smashing barriers. And here I sit.

    Typing.

A Safe Space to Defend the Omnibus — Bookmark This!

There must be valid arguments for the omnibus spending bill that just passed. Those of you so inclined, please do us a favor and try to summarize those arguments. If you could put that up here, I’d be grateful.

If some decent comments pile up, I’ll add them to this post, and link here to “best-of-breed” rebuttals.

So this is not the thread for nattering disagreement or interminable clarifying questions. Not until there’s some salad on the table anyway.

I look forward to well-thought-out defenses of this bill, and again, I remind folks not to rebut here. Thank you for playing if you’re so inclined as to contribute.

At this point, I think I’m ready for Galt’s Gulch and – Heck with small government – You need people who can think, who have some sort of other-directed moral compass – who don’t want to be taken care of – for that, don’t you? Demagoguery and full-on nanny-statism is what they want?…Let ’em have it…That’s probably the Old Fashioned talking, but, hey…

  6. DevereauxDevereaux says:

I see Rico has “improved” vastly since I left (actually WE left – Nanda, Simon, DocJay, and I. Don’t know if there were any others.)

There are a few passive aggressive twerps on there. Other than me, that is. I usually just ignore them.

I read a couple postings on the main feed by some guy about firearms and was not impressed. ?Did they hire him for his weapon knowledge. Those kind of posts didn’t make the main feed in the old days, and what I read wasn’t impressive. SoS did a better job in a couple of his posts, and he’s a total newbie.

OTOH I note Brent 67 seems to be back. I always rather liked him. I presume Western Chauvinist is still there. She, too, was interesting. Rachel Liu, however, would be an elitist with some conservative leanings – sort of.

  7. NandaNanda says:

I wish iWe and Richard Harvester, oh, and SoS, would find us…WChauvie is fighting other battles at the moment. We may get her here yet… :-)

Dev, JG – who may’ve written those “holster posts” – is an enthusiast, who (I think) has some mil background, and is a new Editor on R> – since TS’s departure…Don’t know if that answers your question… :-D SoS is, indeed, a force with which to be reckoned. RL is a convert to Catholicism – and an academic. She’s a warm person, but dons her mortarboard and robe a lot…

      • MLHMLH says:

The holster posts are written by Kevin Creighton. Here’s his R> bio

      Who’s Richard H?
Everyone over there seems pretty happy as your clique gives you more attention than we can garner over here. Heck, even BravoDeltaBoy doesn’t get here very often.

  8. NandaNanda says:

Richard H is iWe’s brother, M…thanks for the correction; I saw those a while ago…Mea culpa! I was asked by iWe for an hour last week to lurk in order to read *his* and RH’s theology-themed posts only – as his guest…The only çlique I have is here – and at OSD – one in which I’m very glad to be considered! The connections I cherish from there are all “outside” ones now…I shudder when David Deeble links his Main Feed posts elsewhere…I don’t long for the fleshpots of Egypt in the least! :-) Btw, Sir Percy: Of course you weren’t…

    Howdy Folks,

Saw the new Star Wars movie. Think I’ll put up a little post about that.

    If it’s pay-walled, I’ll import it…

EDIT by MLH: I got around the paywall with this.

  12. DevereauxDevereaux says:

M – I believe yes. But recollect there is a substantial part of all this written into law by congress. That will take congress to UNwrite it. The dems will howl, but then, they should. Time for them to feel some pain also.

  13. DevereauxDevereaux says:

Interestngly, what seems totally forgotten is the fact that we got taxed for 4 years BEFORE implimenting Obamacare. That money is down the rathole, and going forth will get more and more expensive as there are no longer any “excesses” upon which to draw.

Can’t wait to see the budget in a year or two.
