People seem to be getting on with it. Time to get back to work, to play, plan a vacation, start a new job , normal life stuff.
We dodged a bullet and while Washington is still a sucking , festering swamp, it is not out to kill us every day. I no longer worry about some new thing that will make another part of my life illegal or worse.
Time perspectives are moving longer, people are not expecting results every day.
I sense it in the conversations I have with folks. The greeter at the car dealer, the office manager at the excavation company, the waiter at the local diner, the eye doctor and the lathe operator. A calmness , a feeling that things are okay.
People are coming off the immediate need to follow the latest twist and turn from the media.
Me? We are taking the new F150 to the coast to see the gray whale migration this weekend. It is even supposed to not rain.
Meanwhile, Chuck Schumer is plotting how to duplicate the crash of 2008.
This is not an unreasonable assertion. At all.
I thought it was quite good as well.
I respectfully submit this as my first testimony for upgrade to Curmudgeon (Reserve Status).
I agree with you that there is a kind of normalcy returning, but I think it is going to be revealed as distracted apathy.
I also agree that in the short run new attacks on liberty are not being piled on our backs, but the big attacks on liberty from previous admins are all still in full effect while President Trump has done mostly what he can around the edges solely from the executive.
Under the hood things are worse than 2007/8. It has been entertaining reading some folks I follow putting up old quotes from that era. Especially hilarious are the 2008 rising market projections from analysts at Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers, oops.

Now I am off to glide a straight razor across my handsome face and attack the day with the full armor of God in place.
You are well on track for Curmudgeon (Reserve Status). Your natural pessimism is an asset to be treasured.
While things are still unhealthy, we are not taking friendly fire while trying to get by day to day. We are also not sliding off the precipice but there are some storms a coming.
Still time to enjoy the moments God has granted while we do what we can to prevent and prepare.
No, we ARE taking friendly fire; it’s just off target so we don’t get the hits. Rather like an enemy barrage that is off target – almost fun to watch. I am particularly smiling at the demos twisting in the wind over Gorsuch. I don’t think McConnell will blink. And I HOPE the dems filibuster and the nuclear option is called. Then let’s hope Ginsburg drops out and we put in another Thomas – with the nuclear option. Kennedy would just be icing on the cake.

Couldn’t agree more and my favorite example is SNAP that opened at 23.50 with a $400 million dollar debt on $500 million dollar sales and traded at the end of the day at 29.44.
In these times, it’s good to know when to day trade. :)
