Left to right is Murano, whose nickname is Mr. Adorable, named for the glass island we love. Next is Satsuko, named for the now-deceased Japanese artist who created a couple of unimaginably colorful paintings in our house. Next is Zion, named of course for the park where we honeymooned. Lastly is Confetti, who since this was taken lost all his color, so he’s now a permanent resident of the large pond at Oregon Gardens.

Did he out grow the colors? What’s wrong with a white koi? Did you sell him or donate him for a tax deduction?

It was just a good excuse to downsize the pond population. At that time we had 35 Koi in our 5,000 gallons, many of the fish fairly sizeable. Some fish just change spontaneously. Didn’t think about the tax thing. Will now!

    Which Oregon Gardens?

Your kids look well fed and happy.

The Oregon Garden is the literal name. It’s just south of Silverton. It has a hotel, gift shop and enough gardens to walk about for hours. Camera-ready!
