I am snuggled up with Snooks on a comfy sofa at home. I left work at a decent time, and took her out to a mid-price restaurant, and we came home for a dessert comprised of Baptist Church Lady Fundraiser cookies.
Then I made mimosas (her choice) and set up to watch the 2016 election night coverage. CNN was schadenfreude at once. NBC was pretty amusing. For an almost painful review, we looked at PBS, but that was such high distress that she made me switch away. We watched Fox and Breitbart, and now she is bringing up ABC for fresh entertainment value. While she is pulling that one up on one screen, I have Morning Joe from the following morning running on the other.
This is a great date. Good for us.
Happy one year anniversary of the election victory of Donald J. Trump to all y’all.
That was indeed an amazing night. I had the CBS on the TV, and the New York Times on my laptop. The Times had a bunch of cool graphs and dials that updated without refreshing the page. Of course, they were all set for a Hillary win (which was blue), but as the evening progressed, they moved to red. It was actually pretty early in the evening when the graphs and dials showed that Trump had picked up significant momentum. By about 7PM (Pacific), it was apparent that he was going to win, again, just by looking at the NYT data. Just couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
Went to Panda Express with a friend for dinner. While standing in line, I held up my phone to the NYT page and announced to anybody who would listen: “The New York Times is calling it for Trump!” (They hadn’t officially called it, but the data was there for all to see.) The lady ahead of me turned around and smiled. Nobody else even looked up. But I was on cloud 9. HRC had been defeated.

MJ, what a terrific idea! I’m going to suggest it to my husband for tomorrow night – after we watch Donna Brazile on Tucker Carlson. I’m getting together with some of my deplorable girlfriends Thursday for lunch, we want to celebrate too!
