The Chinese are being begged to stop a confrontation where Trump wins.
The swamp knows they cannot handle a repeat of 2016 in 2018 at the ballot box.
The next six months will see escalation of “He is unfit for office” to higher volume.

It depends on your view of whether there is any crime he can find that affects Trump.
If Mueller cannot nail Trump and I am betting there is nothing there, he either settles for a small fish process crime and retires as the guy who found nothing of substance, OR he gets Trump so annoyed he gets fired.
Mueller fired has far more damage potential to Trump than Mueller finding nothing but crap.
Why else would he stack the deck on lawyers, empanel a grand jury where Trump got 4% of the vote and look as partisan as he can? To get fired by demand of Trump’s base.
He does more damage by shaving points than scoring goals.
Trump firing a former head of the FBI puts the guilty charge in the court of public opinion around Trumps neck. Better to make Mueller play it out and accuse him of overreach and wasting money. If people think Mueller is overreaching and wasting money, Trump wins.
Mueller can only win by being fired unless he really thinks he can nail Trump.

Mueller seems to be attempting win by squeezing people like Paul Manafort, who could perhaps be forced to implicate Trump on something, anything, just to avoid imprisonment or personal bankruptcy.
Implied by that tactic is that Mueller thinks he can’t destroy Trump any other way, like by finding evidence of an actual crime which would produce evidence other than testimony from people trying avoid having their lives destroyed.
Show Mueller the man, and he’ll show you the crime.
