Take two of these, keep Kevin calm, and I will see you in two months

I did my monthly check in on National Review and was stunned.

David French of “I might run for President” fame actually wrote a non derogatory article about the speech in Poland.

Jonah “Can’t buy pants” Goldberg went after those who trash on twitter without listening to the content of what Trump said.

Rich “I am no William Buckley” Lowrey actually decided that Trump is winning the immigration debate.

It took Kevin “Get a U Haul, you white trash scum” Williamson to get things back to normal. Trump, you see is responsible for not having solved the North Korean problem in five months because he tweets.  Had he not tweeted, you see, North Korea would be applying to be the fifty second state after Puerto Rico.

I am glad someone is maintaining the derangement.

I might wait two months before I check in again.

I have often wondered what Buckley would have thought of Trump. I doubt he would have published the Against Trump Edition.

I do believe Buckley would have waited to see what he actually did before he began rabid opposition.

Buckley respected achievements not just word smithing.

There are some smart folks at NR, but mostly it is a just a hive of self congratulatory mental masturbation that cheers on more government so they have something to bitch about.

I give them props for the Cruz endorsement but the purple clad never Trump issue was over the top infantile.

Brent, I always think truth and humility must go hand in hand. When you lose humility truth goes with it and you wide up being stupid and not even seeing it.

Aren’t most groups hives of self-congratulations? Part of being a group is saying we are better, right?

It’s gratifying to see some of the Nevers start to come around. I don’t trust them; expect them to revert to type at the first misstep or reversal.

In spite of their protestations about their Principles™ they are simply afraid of straying too far from the political class orthodoxy and will fold like so many cheap lawn chairs at the first sign of trouble. After all, they have their careers to think about. There’s no future in going against the political class.
