I don’t understand. Didn’t the doctor know he wasn’t supposed to have the gun. Maybe they should put up big signs saying “No Guns”. Maybe we should make murder against the law too just for good measure. If we just have a rally and get that Brit Piers to talk about it things would be as safe. How about starting DLM, Doctors lives matter. (sarcasm off)

Iowa doesn’t acknowledge my CCW’s, so I cannot carry in that state. I worked there a year and a quarter wearing a ballistic vest – under my scrubs. Everyone just thought I was large. It would have been far more comfortable to carry.

And I bet some of those shot today might just wish they could carry.

Someday we will learn. I pray it is soon.

Unless the media is able to suppress, we’ll find out some un-PC facts about this guy. They say he’s a graduate of a foreign medical school… That’s a bit of a red flag.

Also, it highlights the old: “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.” Hospitals, especially urban hospitals, generally have a police presence significantly higher than we could ever have generally in society. The first* line of defense has to be armed good guys.

*Actually in are screwed up world that might not be true. Our first line of defense must be undoing political correctness. The overwhelming number of major crimes are committed by people who are present, one way or another, due to political correctness.

Why does this seem like an option of first resort, these days? If this is the new normal, I’ll pass…

    • DevereauxDevereaux says:

It is not. Avoidance is first resort. But when bullets fly, armed citizens are there – and cops are not. Nor have any legal responsibility to be. Semper Virgilis

Nanda, this was mostly the norm, until liberalism hit us. Even in tony Baltimore and Philadelphia a gentleman was not dressed unless he had his pistol. Usually a pocket pistol, still able to be used to defend – one’s self or those helpless.

In my neighborhood I am among the few (perhaps only) who carry. While others don’t, several couples have told my wife they feel better going out with us as they assume I am armed.

  8. NandaNanda says:

Right you are, Dev! Just feeling a bit weary…This, too, shall pass.
