John McEnroe got into trouble for not calling Serena Williams the best tennis player in the world. He called her the best female tennis player but that was not enough for NPR. I am for equality. Let the women become part of the men’s league. Tennis and golf are great sports to try this experiment.

“Let the women become part of the men’s league. Tennis and golf are great sports to try this experiment.”
Interesting comment but I don’t see how it matters. I’ve been a huge fan of both of the Williams sisters and imho, neither of those incomparable champs need to prove a damn thing.
May I also add this reeks of the MSM attempting to create a story that just doesn’t exist? Can we all just relax and be proud of our female tennis mavens?
I do not want to revisit that BJK- BR match which was a total embarrassment to this dignified sport.
I agree this is a non story.
I do think as a society we need to come to terms with the strengths and weaknesses of both sexes.
Exactly. Each gender’s gots what it gots and let’s just celebrate the differences.
Off the record, Martina Navratilova was no role model for women. There was some definite physical evidence she had taken steroids.
Yeah, yeah… so did Lance Armstrong, Mark McGwire and A-Rod, but it personally offends me more with women. Uggh!
Is it because steroids are male hormones?
Does anyone take estrogen for performance enhancement?
I agree both sexes are awesome in their own ways.
“Is it because steroids are male hormones?”
Yes and that leads to my least favorite subject of all- transgender modification.
Estrogen doesn’t provide muscle tone and body strength.
Stand tall, John , for speaking plain truths.
We need more willingness to do so.
The more who refuse to play this game of “Let’s Pretend” on camera, the better the world will be.
Trump was elected because he did not play the “Let’s Pretend” game and the voters rewarded him.
We need an era of plain speaking . Not denigration, but not sugar coating reality either. Old fashioned plain speaking. Thank God the media are self destructing before our eyes.
Johnny M needs no encouragement to speak his mind! This is one of the reasons he was always my favorite MALE tennis player. I have a thing for the bad boys.
He and Jimmy Connors had an unconditional love for the game and I respected that.
With that said, I could make an exception for Rafael Nadal. ;)
The mainstream media has had 4 years worth of this type of story cued up since before November when they thought they’d have a female President now. Any idiot producer in charge would have filed these stories away when reality hit them in the kisser, but not these idiots.
I am not kidding when I say humanity as a whole dodged a MOAB when Hillary lost. I prayed sincerely for her loss, and God was merciful.
Don’t men play 5 sets and women only 3 in tennis tournaments? uh-huh
Yes, women play best out of three.
Karsten Braasch, a German tennis pro, beat both Williams sisters at the Australian Open in 1998. Sure they were teenagers, but Braasch, ranked 203rd in the world at the time, was a guy whose daily training regime was “a pack of cigarettes and more than a couple bottles of [beer]” according to a local sports writer. The morning before the match he prepared with a round of golf followed by “a couple of shandies”.

How about other sports? What are the running speeds between the sexes?
I think the marathon times are closing in. . err maybe not:

I think some of the sports which require hand-eye coordination might be ripe for a comparison. Otherwise, it’s a because men and women share different levels of testosterone and estrogen so it isn’t a contest.
I’ve always enjoyed women’s NCAA and WNBA because of the shooting skills of the players; however; the rules are different.
In the college game, the men’s three-point line is 20 feet 9 inches from the rim while the women’s arc is 19 feet 9 inches away. Similarly, the NBA’s three-point line varies from 22 to 23 feet 9 inches, while the WNBA arc measures 20 feet, 6 1/4 inches from the hoop.
With that said, female players in both NCAA and WNBA make similar percentages of their 3-point shots as their male counterparts.
This is what is fun to read:
“Tennessee’s Lady Volunteers regularly sell out and often draw bigger crowds than the men’s team. Connecticut’s Lady Huskies draw sell-out crowds, just like the men’s squad.”
American fans enjoy winners regardless of gender!
It seems that that Men’s Beach Volleyball can’t compete with the crowds the Women’s superior form.
After living on the beach in SoCal for a dozen years, I’d have to say most of the male sportsmeisters focus upon skate and surf.
I have an acquaintance who [wants to] thinks that an all female America’s Cup team could have prevailed. I told her that she is nuts (which she took as a compliment: she’s a pip!).
MLH, men are bolts and women are nuts.
What do you think of this video?

I say, listen to the damn expert! She explained the differences between the sexes quite succinctly.
I am confident that either of the Williams sisters would kick my butt sideways across a tennis court.
McEnroe is still alive? Who knew? good for him.
The problem with letting things be is that we will not be left alone by things. The men vs women playoff isn’t there to humiliate the female champions, who work just as hard as the men to improve themselves. It’s there to make the progressives shut up.
Game on.
All these McEnroe interviews are a lesson in one thing: when leftists are lying, their voices go through all sorts of “tells” in terms of accent, timing changes, volume changes, etc. Combine the interviewers in the NPR and CBS interviews with any Hillary speech and you have the makings of a TED talk on spotting lies.
