Okay, my Zen State is still barely intact.
The media and their monkeys in the DNC and the Deep State, plus McCain and sundry Nevers are accusing Trump of leaking a story about intelligence that was already in the papers , disclosing a city that might reveal the source, except he was not briefed on the city and no one in the room was asked to corroborate the story.
Can we just accept we are in a cold civil war right now and there will only be victory and no compromise?
I had always assumed we would be the insurgents fighting the deep state, but apparently the progressives are now in near open revolt.
The progressives are offering nothing but vitriol and bile.
Meanwhile, industrial output is at record levels, jobs seekers are finding work and illegals are slowing down the torrent.
Time to keep moving forward and just ride the noise out.
The next confrontation will be the GOP donors.
“I had always assumed we would be the insurgents fighting the deep state, but apparently the progressives are now in near open revolt.”
And my Zen is completely shot because the good guys aren’t even attempting to ‘rumble in the jungle’ with their partisan enemies even though WE have the people on our side and the correct stance on fiscal and national security issues.
Or (as my cynical spouse commented), maybe we don’t.
Where the hell is our William Wallace?
Or our William Barret Travis?
Trump, should remember that he has the power now. People in authority don’t have to talk much for they can make decisions.
Trump, stirred up a hornet’s nest. He said things that everyone thought and knew but never said directly. The press wants to get even and they will try.
True, but I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I’m afraid of the monsters we elected in D.C. and I certainly include the GOP as well. As a businessperson, I know that change is most always for the good because there is never a situation that could be tweaked, repaired, or even thrown out completely.
The Senate and Congress (exception: Freedom Caucus led by Jordan and Meadows) are frightening me.
Step back from the ledge, guys. This is just more fake news. The Republicans in Congress are in CYA mode but some of them, at least, have spines.
If this does turn out to be fake, as I fully expect, it may be a good thing. The news media will continue to lose credibility and just become background noise. That’s the way I think of them already.
I wonder how Trump fairs compared to Lincoln. This is not the first president with a press war on his hands.
I would guess Lincoln had a tougher time of it. Consider that
(a) There were probably plenty of southern sympathizers in the press, especially south of the Mason-Dixon line (e.g., Washington). Even in the north there were plenty who were not crazy about the Civil War, especially when it wasn’t going well.
(b) Lincoln had to do edgy stuff, like suspend habeas corpus.
True and at least Trump has a more experienced Secret Service. ):
There was that giving money to the Russians for a worthless piece of real estate, though.

Just ……. chill.
TKC is right. Instead of us being at the barricades, shooting down the BG’s, it’s them at the barricades, tearing down regular business.
This latest is just …. stupid. And people are beginning to recognize it. Heck, even Pelosi has said to simmer down and stop being noisy – it isn’t doing them any good.
The best thing to come out of this is the traitors in our midst are exposed once and for all. No one on the right should ever trust or give credence to human excrement like Podhoretz or Douthat ever again. They have made clear their allegiance lies with themselves and appealing to their liberal friends over killing Progressivism when the chance presented itself. These quislings are not our friends or allies. They can burn with the Left.

Amen!
Unfortunately, you’re right, Whiskey, so I have to give you ****
I would only add that politics reminds me of professional sports. One day you’re beloved, but if you rock the boat, you’re resented by your peers and the sportswriters. I’m even annoyed by the obvious bias on ESPN let alone the NYT!
I’m thinking of Bill Walsh and his innovative ‘West Coast’ offense and the greatest coach of any sport, Bill Belichick. Both are reviled by anyone outside the 49ers’ and Patriots’ organizations.
Harrumph.
I read the post title as “United Rabble”.
Ah, the rabble. A much maligned group.
Why do I get the feeling that you’re reveling in this rep? :)
To Rabble ye were born and Rabble ye shall die…
Might as well enjoy the ride.
The Rabble was produced by George Romney, right?
Not George Romney, George Romero: after The Rabble birth and death comes … The Rabble zombie apocalypse!
Vald, are you going to join the Conference Call? Look in the chat.
