Another Taliban attack has killed at least 140 Afghan soldiers on a base I know very well. I’m kind of speechless. I’m agnostic, but my prayers go out to those brothers in arms who died fighting the good fight. I have eaten in the chow hall where many of them were killed, tramped the dusty road where dozens of them were blown up, met with counterparts next door to the base mosque where they were gunned down.
The US no longer operates on that base. The Afghans have no choice.

Last word I saw, 4 soldiers on the base helped the bastards out.
There supposedly only 10, 2 of which blew themselves up and killed perhaps 80 with the blasts. It took Afghan specops 5 hours to clean them out.
?Why were there so many UNARMED SOLDIERS. ?More PC.
Dev, if all the soldiers were armed, then those 4 who helped out would have been armed. They would have committed such an attack already.

True. But hundreds vs 14 isn’t good odds for the 14. ?Isn’t this the argument for an armed populace – that you don’t know who is and can run into real problems.
