I don’t know what you all think of Ben Stein (Anyone? Bueller?…) and The American Spectator.
I don’t really care but I think that this by the former in the latter is worth the time.

Our day-to-day quality of life as an American citizen today is probably better than any emperor’s life prior to 1900. Just indoor plumbing and central heating/air alone, I mean really.
Regarding what Stein’s friend says about the sexual harassment victims of the past month, the woman in this article at least seems to corroborate his theory – http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5194959/Trump-accuser-lobbied-makeup-artist.html
You, know Pen, I forgot about the harassment stuff in the article because the rest is more important.
It didn’t exactly relate to the ‘good life’ things he was writing about, so I’m not sure why he included it. Unless he wanted to make an oblique point about those women.
It’s kind of just a diary. I will say that I’m disappointed that your take home was the SH stuff and not the life is damn good in the US in the 21st century.
Oh, I certainly felt that – his gratitude comes through. It is indeed a wonderment the way we live now, surely would be the envy of anyone of a former age if they could see it. And the envy of most people of the world even today, or else we would have more people trying to get out rather than trying to get in.
Whew!

TANKS, M! I’ve always admired and enjoyed Ben Stein (Psychology and economics, what could be more useful?) Not to mention humor…The SH onslaught is giving me outrage overload.
