BEIRUT, Lebanon – A former Syrian vice president who has openly broken with President Bashar Assad intensified his criticism Thursday, saying the Damascus regime had outlived its time and was unlikely to survive much longer.
Abdul-Halim Khaddam, who left his post in the Syrian government in June, was asked in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press interview from Paris whether he supported regime change.

Khaddam said such mistakes, in addition to the Syrian regime’s failure to effect political and economic reforms, caused him to give up on the regime and decide to speak out.

The Storied Disappearance of the Tea Party

Remember the Tea Party people?  Wigs and Swastikas in 2010, I think that was their motto.  Every one of them was either an incompetent nutjob or a hardened master agitator, a bunch of little Eichmanns and a couple of Riefenstahls.

And who was that slutty stewardess they used to gape after, the one from Idaho?  Or Alaska?  Somewhere with wa-a-ay too many white people at any rate.  Gives you the shivers, doesn’t it?  Imagine the flat-out conflicted vanity required for somebody to be a mother and try to pull down a non-unionized federal job too.  Remember how she tried to get comics fired for impersonating her?  Anyway.  Way too much time spent on that old callused uterus.

It is well that the Lightworker vanquished them all.

Chomsky spoke to a packed audience of over 80 people in an empty room above Café Bol via skype from his academic offices at MIT in the US. He spoke on several subjects during the one-and-a-half hour lecture. These included a brief history of the World War II, US imperialism and involvement in Latin America over the past three decades and the consequences as well as a more recent take on Pakistan.

Data Warehousing (is) For Dummies

Good heavens. I have discovered that the social sciences are not the only jargon-bound fools. Data Warehousing has its own lexical morass of conflicting and unnecessary terminology. This is a symptom of intelligent people attacking problems which have already been solved, failing to do the research, and inventing new terms for what they think are new concepts. The worst effect of this i that they get the borders of the concepts wrong, and can never be sure exactly what they are talking about. See also LEAN, Six Sigma, Sociology, any field described as ________ Studies at a University, and so forth.

Here’s a big block of nonsense from the Wikipedia entry on Degenerate Dimensions in the context of Data Warehousing. Note that it is immediately followed up by … Continue reading
