I applaud this man;s civility in explaining his choice, and his discretion in choosing not to tshow up, rather than make some sort of scene. If this is grandstanding, we have little to complain about.

He is a Glenn Beck fan and I probably have little in common with him politically, but I like his plain and polite style–it befits a public figure, particularly an athlete whom children are likely to emulate.
