For those who wonder what the big deal about ObamaCare is, it is a cancer on our Constitutional Republic.

On its face, the individual mandate is unconstitutional, despite the split opinion of the Sixth Circuit. This is being fought out in the courts, and at each stage the act is weakened by decisions on the way to the supreme court. And for those in the know, even with a severability clause, it would still fall in toto. That’s just the way it is. Take my word for it, or wait and see–it’s the same.

Leaving that alone, however, are other dimensions of lawlessness. The constitutionality of the act based on its substance is one thing, and if you don’t agree with me, then look at these other issues.

Republicans have a credibility problem right now, and it is because Republicans have been lying to us, fighting against us, and trying to fool us.  They are correct in their assessment that we probably will stay with them anyway, but wrong in their assessment that they will survive the process.  We are not stupid, not backward, and have not forgotten the litany of betrayals large and small since we put them in power.  Republicans must speak with the same candor and humility that they showed in perhaps five speeches after the last election but before the new congress was seated.

First off, they both suck.

Second is why. In RedLetterMedia’s epic review of the Star Wars prequels, one of the first plot points he assails is that two Jedi Knights were sent to resolve a dispute over the taxation of trade routes. It’s bad enough that this is the plot, and RLM has covered that. What’s worse is *why* this is the plot, and I haven’t heard anybody yet put the shoe leather to George Lucas’ backside on this score. Allow me.

Lucas is a progressive’s progressive, and it shows in his progressive movies. When you hear conservatives complain about leftist bias in all over the culture, but they can’t explain why, this is precisely the sort of thing we’re talking about.

John Campbell fails to win OCGOP Endorsement, challenger is well-mannered veteran TP type.

The Orange County Republican Central Committee (OCGOP) denied its endorsement of a Republican incumbent, Rep. John Campbell.  To win the local GOP endorsement Campbell needed a 2/3 majority of the elected central committee members.  His effort fell short by just one vote.

Campbell sort of made things worse by suggesting that since he had more time to focus on issues as a member of Congress that he was the recipient of better and higher quality information than those in the audience who doubted the wisdom of his decisions.

I just bought a cheap-o HP PC with Windows 7 Home Premium. I like it. I like Windows 7. I fired up IE (which I do not like) to go fetch Microsoft Security Essentials, which I like a lot. So I type in microsoft.com, and I get spattered with some crap from MSN. Some kind of news, community, gossip, tabloid click-farming crap. At this point, my user experience needle swings sharply down

If you Google the words “rights”, the first entry will be to a wikipedia article.  That site is a tremendous resource, but it is a mixed blessing; that is to say it is a menace and a curse to those who do not understand it.

I do not recognize the SCOTUS authority to quote itself further and further from the constitution.

I do not think that President Obama’s marriage and “career” will both survive the next year.   That is, I predict defeat (either by Dems or Reps!) or divorce, and very possibly both.

He is set up for a mental collapse (if it has not already happened), and the collapse of a bunch of other things.  He is loathed by much of the country, distrusted by Democrats, and seeks to enlarge his base through a series of potentially treasonous maneuvers including vote fraud of various sorts.  He is about to lose his AG who has been the key to burying the crimes of the President and his permanent campaign staff.
