For those who wonder what the big deal about ObamaCare is, it is a cancer on our Constitutional Republic.
On its face, the individual mandate is unconstitutional, despite the split opinion of the Sixth Circuit. This is being fought out in the courts, and at each stage the act is weakened by decisions on the way to the supreme court. And for those in the know, even with a severability clause, it would still fall in toto. That’s just the way it is. Take my word for it, or wait and see–it’s the same.
Leaving that alone, however, are other dimensions of lawlessness. The constitutionality of the act based on its substance is one thing, and if you don’t agree with me, then look at these other issues.
An orthogonal problem is the method of its passage. It is true that an act which passes is passed and that’s all there is, but it took several abuses to accomplish this. I challenge anybody to defend Nancy Pelosi’s blatant statement that nobody can understand what’s in the bill before passing it. This is a failure of Congress as a whole, and in my opinion will become a larger and larger issue as our government comes in for a stout reveiw in the next decade.

Dimensions: We have various restraints on the power of government, which is the purpose of the constitution. One is methodology. Gridlock is a defense. Fiscal limits are another. Obama/Reid/Pelosi passed ObamaCare knowing that the debt ceiling would be breached. That is a limit set by Congress, and it is there for a reason. While it is raised from time to time, it is not supposed to be raised for a single-issue power-grab.

Remedies:
It wil never do simply todefeat ObamaCare. Its philosophical underpinnings must not only be defeated, but rolled back a great distance. We have fallen far since FDR’s court-packing scheme forced the Supreme Court to go along with the “Frankfurt” Progressives’ programs.
I have a parallel remedy, and one which unlike court-packing, is clearly Constitutional: court-starving. Simply announce that there will be no justices confirmed. Wait the Marxists out.
