Decorating for the Holidays

Who’s in? I put my outdoor lights up today.

It’s 80° and calm. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be windy and not nearly as warm. I can do the inside stuff in the cold and after dark.

Anyone else get started on this? Anyone finished (actually decorating; not “done because I don’t”)?

Okay, I’ll fess up. The photo is NOT of my house. That’s the Yavapai County Courthouse. It’s right in downtown Prescott (Arizona’s Christmas City). They used to put up a lot more lights and it was wonderfully tacky. But now. . .

You had me going for a second, MLH! What a roost.

I got my supplies down from the garage Hy-lofts today, but it’s too cold and windy here in 97071 to put the lights up today, so I just ate more bird leftovers and mucked around in Windows 10; my version won’t update, and even MS is mystified, so I’m likely destined for a full reset.

But who cares?. My Koi are still eating.

When I had the big house in the burbs on the east coast , I waited until the coldest day to put up the lights. When we moved to the Northwest, I waited until the coldest rain to put them up.

Now we have a townhouse and it takes about a half an hour including coffee break to set it up, I still wait for the most miserable cold and damp weather.

    Traditions are important.

If I did it in pleasant conditions, I might spontaneously combust from seasonal joy.

Punch a cop. Then it’ll be your house.
