Microsoft's Stupid Bing Thing

I just bought a cheap-o HP PC with Windows 7 Home Premium. I like it. I like Windows 7. I fired up IE (which I do not like) to go fetch Microsoft Security Essentials, which I like a lot. So I type in microsoft.com, and I get spattered with some crap from MSN. Some kind of news, community, gossip, tabloid click-farming crap. At this point, my user experience needle swings sharply down
