Remember all the awful pictures of President Bush? Even when the media was not being blatant, they would show him trying to look dignified on a blustery day or after an awkward question, and side by side or following was a picture of some democrat with a hale and hearty appearance, jaw set and brow stern. If you pay attention to color balance, even without knowing the exact problem, you could see that there was a problem. Republicans get cold, washed or peaked colors and balances, while democrats get warm, rich, even treatment.
The right thing for an embattled White House to do is suffer the slings and arrows of the first amendment, roll with the punches or avoid them if necessary. At least the Bush administration’s media failures were largely a failure to show up after the first two years, and little wonder. Meanwhile, the Obama administration is waging a petty and damaging war against any media portrayal which is not absolutely fawning.
So. If it is bad pictrues and ridicule which this thin-ckinned President fears the most, reacts to the most strongly, then I would be a foll not to go there. I am no fool.
I will post the least flattering pics of the President (not the First Lady, etc) I can find, and heck, I should take up cartooning as well. A man so full of fertilizer as myself should prove a fertile ground for artistic ideas.
Besides, if Daryl Cagle and Sandy Huffaker get to call themselves editorial cartoonists, then the bar is pretty low.
