I write a weekly book review for the Daily News of Galveston County. (It is not the biggest daily newspaper in Texas, but it is the oldest.) This is the second of two reviews I did on books about the Texas Navy back in 2006. Seawriter The First Texas Navy’ a fine addition
I can get a usable laptop for a cheap price. The only catch is it needs a new keyboard. It is either an Asus or an Acer. (I can’t remember which one for I get the mixed up all the time.) From what I have read it just takes removing some screws and disconnecting a cable then putting in the new keyboard. Any good suggestions would be appreciated?
The thing with dealing with Trump is everything but everything has already been thrown at him. It is not as if anything more could be worse. People living with glass jaws should not throw punches. Join us on our next voyage to the Village of the Darned by selecting a headline, preferably something you can link, and be prepared* to lead the conversation on your chosen topic. With this crowd, any topic is on-topic at least once, so you don’t have to cater to anybody’s wishes. Also, how many folks would be able to either A) follow along in chat as we pass the “talking stick” around, r B) follow along on something like Google Docs for a cheap (free) online collaborative thingy. If you’re just phoning in from a landline with no PC, or a cellphone while driving, of course, that doesn’t quite support it. One of the great things about the phone call is that it’s a free-for-all among friends That’s also… Continue reading
John McEnroe got into trouble for not calling Serena Williams the best tennis player in the world. He called her the best female tennis player but that was not enough for NPR. I am for equality. Let the women become part of the men’s league. Tennis and golf are great sports to try this experiment.
