Castile Shooting Video

The released video adds quite a bit to what we had heard from the girlfriend’s post: My recollection was that Castile had been a passenger. In this 2016 report, the cell video looks like the woman is on the left side of the car and the reporter says she was in the driver’s seat. Due to use of the selfie camera, the video is a mirror image. We can see the steering wheel appearing to be on the right hand side of the car in the cell video.

My Eyes’ of Georgia

I thought this song was about Georgia. Well, I was wrong but the eyes are on Georgia 6 now. The Dems know how to pick ’em. The guy doesn’t live in the district because he wants to support a girlfriend he has been DATING 12 YEARS. What is the guy waiting for? Menopause? Any predictions, BDBers? Brent, is this a Aardvark knockoff Fitter candidate? Will he be man-Handeled?

Grandfather Duty

One of the burdens and joys of being a grandpa is you become , with grandma, the  oracle of family history. Grandma will remember all the names and relationships, but it can be grandpa’s duty to put the world in context to the family. We were at the excellent Museum of Flight in Seattle with my daughter and family. The two oldest girls loved the interactive parts, where you could launch a rocket or crash the lunar lander. When it came to just looking at history it was harder for them to get excited. I did the best I could and found a link. The Redheaded Irish Wisecracker’s dad worked for Republic Aviation during WW2, and was refused military service because of his skills in supervising the production lines for… Continue reading

Splash 1 Fitter!

The Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet scored its first kill when a Syrian SU-22 Fitter was downed by an F/A-18E Super Hornet most likely from the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) allegedly deployed to Sixth(6) Fleet in the  Mediterranean Sea according to GlobalSecurity.org. I was never Blessed to encounter SU-22’s or the earlier Su-17/20 variants or I would’ve been writing endless posts about “there I was….” shooting them down. Known by its NATO codename: Fitter, they are very fast air to ground attack airplanes built as a knock off the USAF F-111 Aardvark of the 70’s. Fitters have very limited air-to-air capability and only carry archaic thermal seeking missiles easily defeated by contemporary tactics and countermeasures. I had to look this piece of junk up on the web because we rarely… Continue reading

Dad’s Day at BDB’s

We have only one member with “dad” in the title but I would venture to guess that biology being what it is we had some situation with a dad. This is a day to say thanks and remember the good. My dad loved people. He was a true character. I don’t know if I will ever meet someone like him ever again. He died at 77. I am left with many gems that he shared. He never lost the joy of the child. In some ways my father-in-law was a father to me. I felt his love. How strange history is! I bet he never thought his daughter would marry an American. He was always there to help but never to push. I lost him a while back… Continue reading
