{"id":952,"date":"2016-10-30T14:23:38","date_gmt":"2016-10-30T05:23:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/balldiamondball.com\/blog\/?p=952"},"modified":"2017-07-06T17:46:33","modified_gmt":"2017-07-06T08:46:33","slug":"like-itunes-but-for-amazon-android-google","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/balldiamondball.com\/blog\/like-itunes-but-for-amazon-android-google\/","title":{"rendered":"Like iTunes, but for Amazon, Android, Google&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alright, you techno-savvy Ball Diamond Ballers, guess who needs some advice. \u00a0And believe me, if you have a grandchild (or can occasionally ask a kid for help), you&#8217;re likely to be closer to the answer than I am.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kXZs3mjGlQU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I am getting off of Apple some time soon. \u00a0They don&#8217;t really owe me money, but I want something less locked-in. \u00a0I don&#8217;t like what they&#8217;re doing in many cases, and have no choice in the matter. \u00a0See, that&#8217;s what I call a trap, and when trapped, I jump.<\/p>\n<p>So the core (ooh) of the question is this: what&#8217;s a good MP3 player for the non-Apple world? \u00a0Not going Sony, as they are even worse about lock-in. \u00a0I don&#8217;t mind cheap-o devices (loved my Zen Stone!), but those have to be managed by a PC, which is not a problem, but leads to the second question: whats&#8217;s good software for managing a music library AND some devices? \u00a0For example &#8212; my son&#8217;s device gets different stuff on it than mine (thank Heaven). \u00a0Or aybe just set him up on his PC (they do grow up).<\/p>\n<p>SO as you see, my problem is straightforward, and there are probably no wrong answers. \u00a0I&#8217;m not going Linux (again) at this stage, because I need to simplify. \u00a0Once I get everything down to just Windows (and W10 is not bad), then I would LOVE to play in Linux again. \u00a0But not right now. \u00a0Android devices hanging off of Windows will be no problem. \u00a0I don&#8217;t believe the Windows Phone thing is going anywhere even in its third generation. \u00a0Not biting.<\/p>\n<p>Well?
