\nI listened to speeches made by both of you immediately after the election. I was greatly impressed by both speeches–I played the m for friends and introduced them to podcasts and talk radio wherever possible. while unfortunately wondering how long it would last. I have read several accounts of conflict between Tea PArty and GOP chars b4 election, and some immed after. Fair enough. The first serious trbl I saw was Hal Rogers belittling TP and receiving House Approps Chair. I was glad to see Ryan get Budget, but this seemed a bad place to split the baby–both ends of the boat must hold water, or it will sink. Still, I don;t wexpect to get evthing i want, so let it go.
\nI was disappointed by the weasel-worded statements flying from Republican circles about the amount of cuts to be made. GOP and TP should know by now that a $100 Bn spoending cut for FY2011 means “spend $100 Bn less than you did in FY 2010”, and nothing else; no pro-rating, no subtracting real numbers from imaginary ones such as the President’s “and a pony too” budget.
\nWe are engaged in a struggle for the present, and for the future.<\/p>\n
We have seen the results of good men doing the right thing while withdrawing from the battle of ideas in the public eye…<\/p>\n
Fight and win or fight and lose; wither way, we will cover you. But refuse to fight, and you leave us with nothing–no way to cover you, and no way cover ourselves. Too much of this year has seen establishment negotiations with the left while arguing with the right. We want to see negotiations among the right and <\/p>\n
