I recall Steve Jobs’ point about looking out the window and realizing that everything you see was built by people not better than you or me. \u00a0Not smarter, not stronger, just working toward a goal. \u00a0Jobs said that thought changed his life.<\/p>\n
The #Occupy types have committed a stupid error, incited by the Marxist destroyers of our culture. \u00a0When faced with a realization like Jobs’ above, you see it for what it is: not a fact about other people, but a choice about yourself. \u00a0Those who accomplish nothing of note must convince themselves that they did not fail. \u00a0They do this by trying to convince others that they did not fail, and thus mutually reinforce their conscience-salving illusion.<\/p>\n
This is similar to the way that those who have earned nothing but who are given much must either become humble and accept an obligation or become arrogant and deprecate the gift. \u00a0As liberals become aware of the bad actors who populate the international stage, and the horrific conditions under which much of humanity still exists, they strive to show that America is just as bad, but in different ways. \u00a0So they are fighting a valiant struggle of liberation for all the oppressed peoples of the world when they smash the windows in a shop not too far from their homes. \u00a0At the same time, those young men and women of the United States armed forces who actually are fighting a valiant struggle of liberation for all the oppressed peoples of the world must have it all wrong.<\/p>\n
