I had this as a draft before Palin announced she would not run:<\/em><\/p>\n

The GOP has been had again, and deserves its fate. \u00a0The candidates are now trotting to the tune called by their media betters, with the exception of Gingrich, who will never be President anyway. \u00a0Why are they not talking about fourteen trillion dollars in outright debt, or sixty trillion in unfunded liabilities? \u00a0Why are they STILL answering the same God-Damned questions about gays (gays), abortion (stem cells, HPV), and guns (death penalty)?<\/p>\n

Because they have failed to defend Sarah Palin, and now they are being picked off one by one. \u00a0We had a chance to take the narrative and run with it, but instead we are being run behind the media bus. \u00a0Trip once, and you’re dragged to death with your cohort powerless to help you. \u00a0It’s all they can do to dodge your swinging corpse.<\/p>\n

The fact that conservatives came to the defense of Sarah Palin only when under an attack so loathsome that even the MSM wouldn’t play ball, and that even then they were divided about whether the attack should have been printed, speaks to the craven cowardice of the GOP. \u00a0Sarah Palin offered the equivalent of a run to draw the fire of the media, who would expose their position by taking shots at her. \u00a0All we had to do was point out the ludicrous double-standards involved, and insist that the MSM get it right when criticizing the right. \u00a0A unified front to the media would not have wounded the campaign of any candidate, but the failure to present a unified front is taking its toll now upon all of them.<\/p>\n

Each time the MSM comes up with one of its favorite attack vectors against conservatives, we see candidates climbing aboard. \u00a0This stupid N_head rock story centered on Perry is a fart in a tornado, and Herman Cain just earned a media credibility coin by jumping on.<\/p>\n

Republicans and conservatives would very much have liked to select a candidate on their own, without having the process shaped by the hostile media.<\/p>\n
