\u201cDocuments released last week by the U.S. Treasury Department indicate that General Motors and the Obama administration coordinated their PR strategy regarding GM\u2019s much criticized 2010 ad campaign, in which the car maker misleadingly claimed to have repaid all its government loans.\u201d<\/p>\n
The advertisement campaign GM ran with included the \u201cChevy Runs Deep\u201d series of commercials portraying a feel good attitude toward GM and its essential \u201cAmerican-ness\u201d. Just in time for the 2012 election season, GM wants to rev back up that ad campaign as it did before the November 2010 elections.<\/p>\n
You will not be surprised to learn that there is a series of coordinated efforts between the Obama Administration and General Motors.<\/p>\n

Which makes a lot of sense, and might explain the Ford ad that’s been making waves:<\/p>\n
Sitting and looking sincere and serious, Chris says: “I wasn’t going to buy another car that was bailed out by our government. I was going to buy from a manufacturer that’s standing on their own: win, lose, or draw. That’s what America is about is taking the chance to succeed and understanding when you fail that you gotta’ pick yourself up and go back to work. Ford is that company for me.”<\/p>\n
A Ford spokeswoman confirmed that Chris is an actual Ford owner and that those are his real words (the ad series is all unscripted).<\/p>\n
According to a government report, taxpayers will lose $14 billion in the bailout.<\/p>\n
