Capitol.

Stop negotiation, stop legislating, stop trying to whittle the forest down with a pocketknife. The Democrats will not yield, they will not play ball, they will not allow Republicans to succeed, do you see? The only way to win is to WIN!

[pullquote]There are more states with balanced budget requirements, but governed by pledge-signers, deal-makers, weak sticks who cannot win because they will not fight.[/pullquote]

Jim DeMint, good man, says that state constitutions are why Scott Walker and Chris Christie are effective, but it’s not true. Those governors are effective and that is just a fact, regardless of clauses in their respective state constitutions. There are more states with balanced budget requirements, but governed by pledge-signers, deal-makers, weak sticks who cannot win because they will not fight.

We already had a pledge and the Republicans sold us down the river. Signing another pledge would be like forgiving them their willful and dishonest failure to live up to the previous pledge.

As I and many other have said, we will accept losing a fight–we will NOT accept a failure to even try. The Republicans in Washington are becoming Lincoln’s Generals; the first bunch, that is. The ones Lincoln had to burn through to uncover some talent in the ranks.

[pullquote]Republicans think they can wear us down, but it ain’t so.[/pullquote]

No to the pledge. I’m not arming the Republicans against the Tea Party. The GOP picked a fight with the Tea Party with appointments like Hal Rogers and sabotage like Continuing Resolutions and the budget “cut” spending increase fiasco. Republicans think they can wear us down, but it ain’t so.

In fact; I think I’ll mount a campaign to get that pledge pulled down. Starting now.

The more I think about this, the more I vehemently dislike this pledge idea. Stop talking, and just fight.

[pullquote]We already had a pledge and the Republicans sold us down the river. This is just more of Lucy and the football.[/pullquote]

There are several honest Republicans pushing this idea, but it’s still rotten. This is marketed as an offense to be used against Democrats, but in fact, it is a defense to shield Republicans from the base. This is establishment Republicans trying to convince us that the way to win in Washington is to help them convince their democrat friends to vote with the Republicans.

That is the wrong answer. This is just more of Lucy and the football. We do not need to expend a single …
