{"id":6034,"date":"2011-05-23T00:13:33","date_gmt":"2011-05-22T15:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/haakondahl.com\/blog\/?p=969"},"modified":"2011-05-23T00:13:33","modified_gmt":"2011-05-22T15:13:33","slug":"watch-out-for-the-hattiesburg-h8ter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/balldiamondball.com\/blog\/watch-out-for-the-hattiesburg-h8ter\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch Out for the Hattiesburg H8ter!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is a letter circulating via Twitter etc. which purports to be from a disappointed Tea Party supporter to the <a title=\"The Letter.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hattiesburgamerican.com\/article\/20110522\/OPINION03\/105220323\/What-happened-tea-party-promises\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hattiesburg American<\/a>. \u00a0In fact this is a poorly-written bit of leftist agitation.<\/p>\n<p>The first three paragraphs attempt to establish the writer&#8217;s bonafides as a Tea Party supporter who is now angry, bitter, disappointed, let down (let me check my thesaurus here), and is going to share a bit of good old-fashioned conservative spleen.<\/p>\n<p>Except that what follows in the letter is a laundry list of Marxist talking points. \u00a0So I have posted them with rebuttals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>attempting to destroy Medicare\n<ul>\n<li>Saving Medicare, unlike simply letting it fail, as it is currently fated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>by privatizing the program with vouchers,\n<ul>\n<li>Not true, read the Ryan Plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>supporting continued billion-dollar subsidies for oil companies\n<ul>\n<li>Tax credits which at any rate are far below averages across industries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>(Are you liking gas prices now?),\n<ul>\n<li>This is due to Obama&#8217;s scarcity terror, not oil profits which are still less per gallon than proceeds from gas taxes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>attacking public radio and broadcasting,\n<ul>\n<li>Attacking the taxpayer funding, not the activity. \u00a0Mark Levin said he would personally sponsor Sesame Street. \u00a0Good programs will succeed, and crap will go away. \u00a0Finally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>removing low-cost reproductive health services for women,\n<ul>\n<li>Abortion: expensive, dangerous, immoral (there are exceptions)<\/li>\n<li>Contraception: inexpensive, unreliable<\/li>\n<li>Abstinence: Free, safe, requires and builds character<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>depriving certain populations of their rights to serve in the military and to marry,\n<ul>\n<li>Uh, anybody in particular?<\/li>\n<li>Homosexuals have the same right to marry as straights. \u00a0Just not same-sex marriage.<\/li>\n<li>It is a duty and a privilege to serve, not a right.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>destruction of the health care bill,\n<ul>\n<li>DIE DIE DIE<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>attacking AARP\n<ul>\n<li>DIE DIE DIE<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>and senior citizens, and\n<ul>\n<li>Join <a title=\"I Don;t have to stay with AARP for insurance?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amac.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AMAC<\/a>; AARP screwed you and then took huge waivers from ObamaCare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>refusing to rein in Wall Street and CEOs raking in millions and billions in salaries.\n<ul>\n<li>Not Congress&#8217; problem to solve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>failed to add new jobs,\n<ul>\n<li>You want the House to do this?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>and spent time\u00a0patting Bush on the back for getting bin Laden (Remember: &#8220;I don&#8217;t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don&#8217;t care. It&#8217;s not that\u00a0important. It&#8217;s not our priority.&#8221; &#8211; G.W.
