Don’t believe any of you here give the UN much strength. It is mostly a collection of people who in a proper world would be in jail. Despite this, they get to pontificate and pronounce upon far more righteous people without fear of retribution. Oh to be able to return to the times of, say, 125 years ago – with modern technology. Be some dead uglies lying about.<\/p>\n

So imagine my surprise to note all the goings on these last several months. Nikki Haley has totally tossed the way business is done there. No more mumble, mumble, shall we break for lunch.<\/p>\n

Look at some of the things she has done. She began by calling out the Russians over the chem attack in Syria. Then there was the refusal to hold a “closed session” about the same. Her stance was that she wanted the world to see and hear how people stood, and on which side of the line. Soooo uncomfortable for weasel politicians.<\/p>\n

Now she appears to be taking on North Korea AND China, albeit her stance on China at least hasn’t called them scum. Some points were given for some of China’s moves. But at the same time she gave no support for a rather feckless proposal from China, perhaps a sign that we are not in the mood for games. <\/p>\n

Fat boy is a problem. In many ways he is a problem for not only the Korean Peninsula but all of SE Asia, and indirectly for the world. So far, despite the “best efforts” of our more “traditional” politicians, nothing has improved and things seem to have gone south. Haley is not making it easy for China to sit back and do nothing.<\/p>\n
