I am trying to decide if the Administration understood the deep state problem before they got attacked by it. It was pretty obvious for all to see in hindsight.<\/p>\n

So, if they had advance knowledge, what strategy might they undertake ?<\/p>\n

Fire them all? Not possible and very very bad optics.<\/p>\n

Arrest the perps? Needed the Justice Dept fully staffed with loyalists.<\/p>\n

It is possible they might have embarked on a very deliberate anti media campaign to blunt the delivery tool of the deep state- the NYT, CNN and so forth. If you spent December positioning the media as untrustworthy, lying jerks and the Dems as lazy slimebags who will not cooperate at all, you might decide you can ride out the first wave of attacks, use it to shore up your base, get Congress moving on the big stuff\u00a0 while the deep state exposes itself.<\/p>\n

As long as the silly accusations keep looking silly and Trump keeps moving forward, the voters will stay with him and his support will firm up.<\/p>\n

OR<\/p>\n

They did not see it coming\u00a0 at all and stepped right\u00a0 into it.<\/p>\n

So fellow Pragmudgeons, what do you think?<\/p>\n
