He sent me the \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ca4.uscourts.gov\/Opinions\/Published\/141945A.P.pdf\">link<\/a> to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit regarding the Maryland &#8216;Assault Weapon&#8217; ban.<\/p>\n<p>The decision hinges on an interesting point, specifically:<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 9\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<blockquote><p>We conclude \u2014 contrary to the now- vacated decision of our prior panel \u2014 that the banned assault weapons and large-capacity magazines are not protected by the Second Amendment. That is, we are convinced that the banned assault weapons and large-capacity magazines are among those arms that are \u201clike\u201d \u201cM-16 rifles\u201d \u2014 \u201cweapons that are most useful in military service\u201d \u2014 which the Heller Court singled out as being beyond the Second Amendment\u2019s reach.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>My friend introduced the link with this message:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This decision of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, which (if its logic were followed to the end) would justify the banning of all firearms under the Second Amendment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The decision is typical boring tripe and even considers that no other court before it came to a similar conclusion.
