Mr. Rex Tillerson is his nominee for Secretary of State.\u00a0I do not know the gentleman personally, but do know his corporate pilot at Exxon and the few times he discussed Mr. Tillerson it reflects well on our next Secretary of State.<\/p>\n<p>There will be endless wailing and gnashing of teeth, garments will be torn, ashes, the whole parade. This is a pick that will piss off absolutely everybody and the pope. Good. When Elizabeth Warren and Marco Rubio are both pissed off we are moving the right direction although time may bear out they are not so different.<\/p>\n<p>My friend that flies Mr. Tillerson&#8217;s aircraft has recounted the many trips and destinations they travel. This is not Mr. Tillerson&#8217;s first rodeo. The only thing that will change is he will fly aboard a larger aircraft with a national paint scheme. He will step onto the ramp in other countries and shake hands of people to whom he is known and appears genuinely respected. He is well equipped to lead our diplomacy and if that doesn&#8217;t work the bastards can deal with Defense Secretary Mattis and his bunch. I like that dynamic.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the potential lack of national security bona fides I am not concerned. Mr. Trump has selected several well regarded flag officers for his national security team. Adding a member of his team to lead the America First, America Inc., We are Open for Business and Hope You are Also portion of the program seems a good complement and fit.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Tillerson and Exxon under his charge have not succeeded by not getting things done, quite the contrary.
