the polls did not accurately reflect the outcome of the election. Interestingly enough, right as I finished responding to Devereaux’s excellent post on Israel, I received a call from a political pollster who wondered if I would be willing to take one call a month and answer one question only.

I responded “Sure. I used to hang up on you guys but I’m tired of the fact that my point of view is barely represented and the polls appear to be quite skewed. I’d be happy to participate.”

The response? The pollster thanked me for my time and hung up the phone.

For that, such pollsters deservedly have egg on their faces.

And the defense team would probably not want you on the jury!

Interesting that you mention this; I have been recused from jury duty three times!

I’m sure the prosecutors wanted you but they proved to be weak. . .

I got made the foremman in a federal trial. And I said I was a doc, flew airplanes, shot guns, and was in the military. I was SURE they would bounce me.

So? Did they? I didn’t come close to having your “disqualifications,” so I’m wondering how you made out.

Like I said, not only was I NOT disqualified but was made foreman of the jury. Only thing I’m sorry about was that we didn’t drop the conspiracy charge, as we found him guilty of the act. I believe today we overcharge a lot.
